Artist Kathleen Sidwell, b.1946 Denver, is noted for her investigations into the relationship between man and the land he inhabits. Her work is often abstract and lyrical, sensual and moody with layers of subtle colors and textures. Her travels throughout the world from China, to Nicaragua, Croatia to Budapest,  with stops in Vienna, Munich, Salzburg, and Bavaria, along with her extensive studies in Celtic culture and ritual all play a part in  her poetic images of woodland, mountains and seascapes.  Her travels in Ireland and Scotland   left an enduring impresssion on her work, tapping into her Welsh , Irish and Scottish heritage. Her long association with the Gulf Coast, the wetlands, the prairies of Colorado and Kansas, the countryside of France and Germany, and the Caribbean culture of New Orleans and Grand Cayman, have formed a lifelong love affair with habitat both human and wildlife. Journey through her images and feel yourself experiencing the awe and wonder of life's smallest gifts and most astounding miracles. The artist as a chronicler of life's joys and tragedies is the path she portrays in her subtle but engaging images. Walk the earth with her in these paintings and prints .
